A record-breaking Houston mansion is back on the market.

The lavish 26,000 square foot property, located at 100 Carnarvon Drive in the Bayou Woods subdivision, was recently relisted at $36 million, the New York Post reported. That’s about $1,385 per square foot.

Douglas Elliman agents Gigi Huang, Konrad Molski and Dustan Gawthorp are in charge of the listing.

The seller is billionaire and Quantlab Financial co-founder Wilbur “Ed” Bosarge Jr., who bought the property back in 2010 while construction was still being completed. Bosarge has been known for throwing extravagant parties, the outlet reported.

The mansion turned heads back in 2014 when it hit the market at $43 million — the highest asking price on record for a private residence in Houston at the time. Despite a lower asking price this time around, it’s still suspected to be the most-expensive Houston home on the market currently, the outlet said.

The French-style chateau sits on 2.3 acres and is loaded with dazzling amenities, jaw-dropping interior design led by the late David Easton, and scenic woods all around. It has eight bedrooms, the primary suite featuring a private terrace and spa bathroom.

The property boasts a Parisian-styled pool, hand painted domed ceiling, floral chandelier, a beauty salon, galleries and gardens.

The recent $36 million listing takes the cake as Douglas Elliman’s most expensive Houston home on the market by a considerable margin. They have three other listings between $10 and $25 million and a slew of properties north of $5 million.

In October 2022, a house in the same neighborhood sold for $21 million, making headlines as the most-expensive mansion sale ever reported in the neighborhood.

The luxury real estate market in Texas did $22.6 billion in sales in 2022, a 17 percent increase from the previous year. Houston saw $5.8 billion in total sales dollar volume in this category, an 8 percent increase year-over-year.
