Discovery Land Company and PMB Capital Investments are developing a 500-home golf-course community southwest of Fort Worth.

The developers have plans for Maverick Golf and Ranch Club, spanning 1,100 acres off Aledo Road near Lake Benbrook, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported

The development will include multiple golf courses, trails, lakes, a sports complex and an organic farm. The courses, designed by golf course architect Tom Fazio, will include 18-, 12-, and 9-hole layouts.

The project is Discovery’s fourth in Texas. The company, led by founder and chairman Mike Meldman, has also developed the 525-acre Vaquero Golf Club in Westlake, and the 800-acre Driftwood Golf and Ranch Club in Austin.

The company’s fourth Texas-based project is the Austin Surf Club, a 2,220-square-foot surf-and-condo community in development at 4836 East Highway 71 in Del Valle.

Meanwhile, PMB Capital has been pursuing a $3 billion development for 5,200 acres west of Fort Worth.

The areas surrounding Fort Worth are experiencing rapid residential development.

Miami-based homebuilder Lennar, for example, is developing its 1,800-acre community to the northwest of Fort Worth. That community, dubbed Ranchland, will feature 4,000 homes, plus apartments or rental townhomes.

Fort Worth recently surpassed Austin to become the fourth largest city in Texas, boasting a population of 989,878, a 7.7 percent increase since 2020

This rapid population growth has fueled a surge in real estate development, with significant investments in residential, retail and mixed-use projects. The city’s robust economic fundamentals and strategic developments have positioned it as a top real estate market to watch this year.
