Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is upping his investment in the shared office sector.
Jones’ Frisco-based Blue Star Innovation Partners has bought into OfficeRnD, which produces software and systems for coworking operations, the Dallas Morning News reported.
The amount of Blue Star’s investment wasn’t disclosed, but it is expected to fuel OfficeRnD’s growth and facilitate its expansion in North America.
Jones ventured into shared-office real estate in 2019 with Formation at the Star in Frisco, whose tagline invites potential customers to “Work the Cowboys way.”
OfficeRnD, an 8-year-old company with offices in Atlanta; London; Melbourne, Australia; and Sofia, Bulgaria, has customers in more than 2,000 coworking spaces across 70 countries. Its clients include Dallas-based Common Desk and Serendipity Labs, a shared office provider that has a strong presence in North Texas.
“We needed a partner with real experience working with property management solutions,” OfficeRnD CEO Miro Miroslavov told the outlet. “After many months of careful vetting, Blue Star Innovation Partners was the clear choice.”
OfficeRnD produces quality software and has a customer-centric approach to making property management more efficient, Blue Star Innovation CEO Dan Wechsler said. Blue Star Innovation was founded in 2017 and has invested in over a dozen tech firms, the outlet reported.
Jones is an active player in Dallas-Fort Worth real estate. This past summer, Jones’ Blue Star Land started construction on a 638,000-square-foot warehouse project in Waxahachie. The $29 million development is expected to be completed next summer.
Blue Star Land is also plotting a mixed-use development in Prosper. It’s set to include 500 apartments, retail and a park, centered around grain silos to capture the town’s farming identity.
