If you have to ask you can’t afford it — so here’s asking on behalf of the 99 percenters:

How much do you have to make to live in the Bay Area’s toniest enclaves?

Around $500,000 a year, the San Francisco Business Times reports, citing its analysis based on data from Zillow Group Inc. and Rocket Mortgage.

The “500K Club” includes 28 zip codes and skips San Francisco — a city-county — altogether.

Santa Clara County, the center of Silicon Valley, took the lion’s share of spots on the list, with 14 zip codes. San Mateo County on the San Francisco Peninsula accounted for seven of the high-priced zips, Marin County to the north had four, Contra Costa County in the East Bay placed one, and outlying Monterey County had two on the list.

The publication’s analysis took current median home values, interest rates and an assumed 10 percent down payment on a 30-year mortgage into account.

The 94027 zip code in the San Mateo County municipality of Atherton ranks first on the list of top median home values for both the Bay Area and nationally at $7.4 million. The minimum annual income needed for a place in Atherton is around $1.7 million, according to the report.
