The former managing partner and managing director of The Agency’s Northern California office have joined Germany-based luxury residential brokerage Engel & Völkers.

Taso Tsakos and Keri O’Reilly’s decision comes weeks after top Marin County agent Tracy McLaughlin also exited The Agency to move to Engel & Völkers.

Tsakos and O’Reilly will both act as managing partners in growing Engel & Völkers’ presence in the East Bay market.

“As Engel & Völkers’ business expands, partnering with real estate professionals who share our brand ethos and dedication to client service is paramount,” Paul Benson, regional director of the Bay Area, said. “Our footprint is growing in Northern California, and Taso and Keri have the local market expertise, industry acumen and experience in servicing the high end of the market that attracted them to Engel & Völkers.”

Tsakos has 30 years of real estate experience and retains the record for selling the most expensive home in Contra Costa County for $19 million. He also served as managing partner of The Agency’s Healdsburg location.

O’Reilly brings 20 years of industry experience to the E&V team. They are both also ranked in the 2% in the United States in terms of sales volume, according to Real Trends.

The two hope to become leaders in the East Bay market and utilize Engel & Völkers’ global resources.

“Keri and I have been very intentional in the molding of our business,” Tsakos said. “We want to establish our new shop as the destination for real estate professionals in the East Bay market who specialize in luxury.”

While The Agency has lost some top talent recently, the brokerage has made moves to expand. The firm opened a Silicon Valley office in recent months and hired five agents from the rival shops including Compass, Interno and Christie’s International Real Estate Sereno.
