A San Ramon office campus is luring tenants as companies struggle to figure out how to bring employees back to the office.

Sunset Development, the owner of Bishop Ranch said it leased more than 725,000 square feet of the campus during the pandemic, the San Francisco Business Times reported. Reputation.com, the latest, took on 11,146 square feet in a building known as BR 1, joining Pacific Gas, which leased 250,000 square feet there at the end of 2021.

Tech company Five9 leased 104,253 square feet at 3001 Bishop Drive starting at the beginning of last year. That expanded the 90,000 square feet it already leased in a different Bishop Ranch building.

At the end of 2021, Sunset also secured lease agreements with Insight Global and Brookfield. The companies leased 20,869 square feet and 16,434 square feet, respectively, in a building known as BR 15.

Sunset President and CEO Alexander Mehran Jr. said the San Ramon Valley is affordable and accessible.

“Throughout the pandemic people were pretty committed to their offices — of course people are rethinking their spaces and we are trying to help them do that,” Mehran said. “It’s really cool to see companies who are able to see through the one-time impacts of the pandemic, plan for the future and recommit to office space.”

Redevelopment plans are underway at Bishop Ranch. Related California has proposed a 406-unit, seven-story residential building on 5.5 acres of undeveloped land at 6201 Bollinger Canyon Road. The parcel makes up a portion of the BR-1A neighborhood, which was cleared for 652 units in the CityWalk plan.
