Intuitive Surgical is a step closer to being given the green light on development of a unified campus on Kifer Road in Sunnyvale.
The Sunnyvale Planning Commission approved the 1.21 million-square-foot project, which will feature a two-building office and research facility at 932, 945, 950 and 955 Kifer Road, Mercury News reports
Plans filed for the project show one building on each side of Kifer Road with a bridge that connects the two running over the street.
The project, which is set to include a 364,000-square-foot North Building and a 847,000-square-foot South Building, was approved by the planning commission in a 5-0 vote. The project will now go before the Sunnyvale City Council for approval on Sept. 14.
Over the past few years, Intuitive Surgical has spent over $100 million on Sunnyvale properties surrounding the current headquarters at 1020 Kifer Road.
