Brandon Miller’s Widow Sells Debt-Laden Hamptons Home

Months after putting it on the market, Candice Miller — developer Brandon Miller’s widow — sold her Hamptons home.

She offloaded the property at 25 Cobb Isle Road in Water Mill last week, the New York Times reported. The buyer and final purchase price were not disclosed, but she was considering offers of $12.8 million and $13 million for the home and furnishings, according to court records.

The former lifestyle blogger put the home on the market in August for $15.5 million, listed with Bespoke Real Estate. The seven-bedroom, shingle-style abode spans 8,700 square feet on a little more than an acre. The home also features five fireplaces, an outdoor living and dining area and a pool house.

Her late husband purchased the property in 2011 for $3.2 million, developing it under a separate entity and transferring it to his own name upon completion in 2013. The home’s three-car garage was the site of Brandon Miller’s suicide attempt over the summer. He died in the hospital, leaving behind unfinished real estate projects and delinquent payments.

The home itself has played a role in the tangled web Brandon left behind. Three weeks before Candice listed the home, a lender sued her over missed mortgage payments on the property. The most recent loan on the property was a $208,000 mortgage from Florida-based Funding Club LLC, taken out days before Brandon’s death; the estate repaid the mortgage, plus interest after the home sale.

Brandon had more than $20 million in unsecured loans at the time of his death, according to legal filings. Institutional lenders such as UBS Bank and BMO Bank, as well as family and friends, are among his creditors.

In September, Upper East Side landlord Mak Acquisitions sued Candice, demanding she pay $195,000 for the months between April and August, plus interest and legal fees, for a $49,000-a-month pad in the Upper East Side at 737 Park Avenue. Candice is fighting the lawsuit, claiming she didn’t owe the rent because she didn’t personally sign the lease.
