Former Southampton car dealership Storms Motors site for sale

$13M business district property can be converted into medical facility or retail complex

The former home of Storms Motors at 729 County Road 39A in Southampton was listed for sale at $13 million, Behind the Hedges reported

The commercial property is in the town’s business district, making it a prime candidate for several potential uses.

When Otis Ford acquired Storms earlier this year, it decided to shutter the Southampton dealership. The property itself is owned by a limited liability company, whose identity could not be determined; Black Beach Holdings LLC purchased the property last August for $7.4 million.

The 132,000-square-foot lot includes the 7,900-square-foot, two-story dealership, which dates back to 1965. The property has more than 300 feet of highway frontage and offers several electric vehicle charging stations.

The future of the property could have little to do with cars, though. While a dealership is an obvious possibility, the property listing also suggests uses such as a medical facility or retail complex. A party has already proposed a medical building that could reach a maximum of 15,000 square feet.

Saunders & Associates’ Lee Minetree has the listing, which would break down to more than $1,645 per built square foot if sold at asking price.

Commercial listings in the Hamptons that stretch into eight-digit territory are notable.

This year, Philip Futterman of the Futterman Organization sold the 20,000-square-foot, half-acre property at 1-17 Windmill Lane in Southampton Village for $8.4 million, marking the sale of the largest commercial property in the village. The buyer ‘s identity was obscured behind a shell company, Excelsior Development NY LLC, which is an affiliate of a Long Island commercial real estate investment group.
