A Robert A.M. Stern-designed home in East Hampton that was once home to artist Norman Mercer and his wife has hit the market for $8.95 million, Newsday reported. The 6,963-square-foot house built in 1975 served as a “showplace” for the sculptor’s work before and after his death, according to the outlet. His wife Carol Mercer, who co-founded a Hamptons-based landscape design firm, was responsible for the landscaping. “It looks and feels like you’re walking into 1975,” Douglas Elliman Real Estate’s Denise Wilder, who has the listing, told the outlet. Amenities include a pool, a roof deck and a three-car garage. [Newsday]
