Italian fashion designer Luca Orlandi has sold his massive Upper East Side townhouse for $27 million — more than two years after listing it for $40 million.
Records show the buyer is Mallow Enterprises, an entity linked to Luis Felipe Padreira Dutra Leite, the chief financial and technology officer at Anheuser-Busch Inbev.
In 2017 the beer executive forked over $26.4 million for a 65th-floor pad at 432 Park Avenue, which he’s now looking to sell. The 4,019-square-foot condo is priced at $29.9 million, according to StreetEasy. Leite also owns two lower-floor units for which he paid a combined $3.6 million in 2017 and 2018.
Orlandi purchased the house on East 73rd Street in 2013 and put it on the market four years later after converting the multi-family property into a single-family home in a massive renovation. The 10,080-square-foot mansion has six bedrooms, a high-speed elevator and full-floor master suite.
Most recently, it was priced at $21.6 million with Brown Harris Stevens’ Sami Hassoumi. The sale price of $27 million works out to roughly $2,678 per foot.
Prior to Orlandi, the house was at the center of a bitter landlord-tenant dispute. In 2002 tenant James Couri wrote to owner George Pavia: “Your father was a fascist sympathizer and you were a member of the Mussolini-Fascist youth corps.” Pavia, in turn, told his lawyers that Couri was a “pathological liar,” according to the New York Times.
