Fort Greene townhouse tops Brooklyn luxury sales last week

The contracts amounted to $38.9 million in total sales

UPDATED, July 16, 2019, 10:22 pm: A restored 1850s townhouse in Fort Greene topped Brooklyn’s luxury residential sales last week.

The six-bedroom property, which asked $3.99 million, was one of 15 contracts signed between July 8 and July 18, according to the latest Compass report. The sales were worth a combined total of $38.9 million.

The market was up from the previous week, when 9 contracts were signed for a total of about $24.8 million.

The second most expensive contract was a condo at 347 Henry Street in Cobble Hill, which was asking $3.7 million. The 1,908 square-foot property features a large private balcony, marble countertops and a wet bar.

Other notable sales included a four-bedroom Brooklyn Heights townhouse that sold for $3.4 million, and a $3.2 million townhouse in Gowanus.

Between them, the properties averaged 108 days on the market with an average discount of four percent. The median contract price was $2.2 million. [Compass] – Sylvia Varnham O’Regan
