Shoe designer Steve Madden has finally sold his landmarked Upper East Side townhouse, which he had spent years piecing together with his now ex-wife.
A filing with the Department of Finance on Thursday showed the buyer, an LLC tied to the Moinian Group, dropped about $8.97 million for the property, located at 175 East 73rd Street.
Neither party could immediately be reached for comment.
The historic building was built over a century ago and is one of two remaining Italianate rowhouses on the north side of the street, according to a not-for-profit that works to preserve historic UES architecture.
Madden and his ex-wife, Wendy Ballew, over several years bought up the individual co-ops in the townhouse for $7.7 million, according to the Observer.
The couple divorced in 2015, but Madden had first put the 6,000-square-foot townhouse on the market in 2013, also for about $9 million, the outlet reported.
