The Mooch lists Water Mill home for $9M
The former White House communications director, Anthony Scaramucci, has put his 8,300-square-foot Water Mill home on the market for $9 million. “The Mooch,” as he’s known, bought the property for $8.2 million less than nine months ago. He’s reportedly selling now to possibly buy property closer to the water. The eight-bedroom home includes a pool and home theater. It’ll be listed on the Farrell Building Co. website, according to the New York Post. [TRD]

U.S. Open pushes surge in South Fork rentals
The U.S. open is going to be held at the Shinnecock Hills Golf Club for the first time since 2004 and the June golf tournament is expected to bring an influx of people looking for scarce hotel rooms, short-term rentals and some seasonal renters. As of last week though, there were fewer than 100 hotel rooms on the South Fork left for the tournament, according to a report by tourism promotion agency Discover Long Island. Short-term rentals costing between $6,000 and $15,000 are up 15 percent, the report found. [27East]

State awards $7M to Amagansett affordable housing project
The state awarded $7 million to a seven building affordable housing complex in Amagansett. Combined with federal money, the project now has $19 million. Once complete, the complex will feature 37 units with one bedrooms going for $1,527, two-bedrooms for $1,878, three-bedrooms for $2,428 and $2,999 for a four-bedroom. “We have the resources to move forward, and when the state makes an award, we have to get it done in two years,” said Catherine Casey of the East Hampton Housing Authority. [27East]

Former CBS head’s Southampton home lists for $35M
The 9,000-square-foot home that once housed CBS president William Paley is on the market for $35 million. The house, dubbed “Four Fountains,” has 10 bedrooms, eight bathrooms, two guest wings, a caretaker cottage, a greenhouse, swimming pool and private pond. Tim Davis of the Corcoran Group will handle the listing. [Curbed]

Ex-J. Crew CEO’s oceanfront Wainscott home sells for $15M
Mickey Drexler, the onetime CEO of both J. Crew and the Gap, sold his 3,500-square-foot home for $15 million. In 2014, it listed for $26.5 million, but had been on and off the market with numerous price cuts. It was back on the market in November for $17.95 million and sold below asking price. The 2.3 acre property features 315 feet of ocean frontage. Douglas Elliman’s Paul Brennan handled the sale. [Curbed]

Tate’s cookies to stay put in Southampton after $500M sale
The popular bakery, Tate’s, was sold to Mondelēz International, the same company that makes Oreos, for $500 million. Kathleen King started the Southampton bakery in 1980. Mondelēz officials said they planned to run Tate’s as an independent company and let it keep its headquarters in Westhampton and its primary production facility in East Moriches. [East Hampton Star]
