Uber Technologies inked a 35,000-square-foot lease at Empire State Realty Trust’s 1400 Broadway for its second New York office.
The new space will house the ride-hailing company’s engineers, the New York Post reported. CBRE represented the tenant and Newmark Knight Frank represented the landlord.
Uber already occupies an office at the Terminal Stores building in Chelsea, which it expanded to 64,340 square feet last year.
ESRT bought the ground lease on 1400 Broadway for $310 million in 2014. Last year immigration firm Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Loewy inked a 108,000-square-foot lease at the 928,000-square-foot property. [NYP] — Konrad Putzier
