Reba Miller, who last year took home the Real Estate Board of New York’s “Deal of the Year” award, is the latest industry veteran to join Warren Buffett’s growing New York City brokerage.

The longtime Manhattan residential broker is bringing her team of six along to Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices New York Properties’ office at 590 Madison Avenue, the company told The Real Deal. Miller is retiring her boutique company, R.P. Miller Realty Group, which she had relaunched in 2014 following a two-year stint as senior managing director of sales at CORE.

The RP Miller Team brings with them $81 million worth of exclusives, including the assignment to represent The Revere, a condo building at 400 East 54th Street.

Led by former Sotheby’s International Realty manager Ellie Johnson, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices last year scooped up the Upper East Side-centric Key-Ventures and hired Herb Hirsch to head up its commercial sales team. The company now has 41 brokers.

“We have always known we wanted Reba and her team as part of the New York Properties family,” said Johnson, who added that Miller “brings another layer of experience and expertise in the Manhattan market that will enhance the services we already provide to our clients.”

After Berkshire Hathaway opened its new office last year, industry experts told TRD that it would be a challenge for the firm to break into the New York City market. Indeed, other brokerages have struggled to make a dent in a market dominated by a few, well-capitalized firms. But Johnson maintained that Berkshire Hathaway’s move was well-planned, and that clients have responded positively to the brand, which has seen success in suburban markets.
