SL Green Realty and Stonehenge Partners agreed to sell 1274 Fifth Avenue, which was once home to the late New York City mayor Fiorello LaGuardia, for $44.1 million.

SL Green announced the deal, which is expected to close in the first quarter, in its quarterly earnings release. It wasn’t immediately clear who the buyer is.

Stonehenge bought the six-story, 56,700-square-foot rental building in 2003 for $11.9 million. In December 2014 SL Green bought a roughly 50 percent stake in Stonehenge’s New York apartment portfolio, which spanned 23 buildings at the time.

LaGuardia lived in an apartment in the East Harlem building, which sits on the corner of East 109th Street, when he was elected mayor in 1934. Robert Moses offered a move to Gracie Mansion, but LaGuardia decided to stay in his apartment for another eight years before finally moving to the East River.
