A global cosmetology school is moving into Manhattan’s famed Paramount Building.
The Christine Valmy International School has signed a 13-year lease for 24,000 square feet in the Midtown building, where it will set up its headquarters, school and executive offices. The 33-story tower is located at 1501 Broadway between 43rd and 44th streets.
Jordan Mandel of Vanguard Global Realty represented Christine Valmy in the transaction, while an Avison Young team led by Arthur Mirante and Michael Gottlieb represented the Paramount Building’s ownership.
Several tenants have signed new leases at the Paramount in 2017, including fabric manufacturer Raymond America, Social Service Employees Union (SSEU) Local 371 and entertainment companies like Giaronomo Productions and Davenport Theatrical Enterprises.
The building recently underwent $50 million worth of renovations, which included replacing all windows and elevators and upgrading the bathrooms.
