JLL’s New York chief Peter Riguardi just scored himself a Manhattan crash pad, at a converted office building no less.
Riguardi, who lives in New Jersey with his wife Linda, dropped $6.9 million on a three-bedroom condominium at 212 Fifth Avenue in NoMad, property records show. At 2,693 square feet, the price works out to $2,562 per foot for the eighth-floor pad. The asking price was $7 million.
The Fifth Avenue building, a condo conversion by Madison Equities, Thor Equities and Building and Land Technology (BLT) has 48 units, including a penthouse that was asking $68.5 million. Sotheby’s International Realty’s Nikki Field is marketing the property, after Town Residential was pushed off the project.
Riguardi and his wife currently have a home in Rumson, New Jersey, home of Bruce Springsteen. The JLL veteran’s unit at 212 Fifth has officially been on the market since last October.
Neighbors at the NoMad condo conversion will include another New Jersey native, Charles Kushner, who went into contract in February to buy three units on the eighth and ninth floor for over $12 million. Other buyers in the building include Texas billionaire Ed Bass, who scored a 7,100-square-foot pad on the 19th floor for $28 million, and ESPN commentator Mike Greenberg, who also dropped about $7 million on an apartment.
Riguardi led asset manager BlackRock’s search for a new Manhattan headquarters, which led to a deal at 50 Hudson Yards. He also represented HSBC’s lease renewal for 548,000 square feet at 452 Fifth Avenue. And a team led by Riguardi and John Wheeler has also been working with Fosun International to lease up 700,000 square feet at 28 Liberty Street, its 2.1 million-square-foot tower in Lower Manhattan.
