Robert Durst’s lawyers filed to dismiss a $100 million lawsuit by his former wife’s sisters over her 1982 disappearance, arguing that the statute for any claims expired 30 years ago.

“Plaintiffs opportunistically seek to cash-in on Durst’s recent notoriety from the HBO series “T’he Jinx’ by asserting two baseless causes of action,” the motion reads.

Kathleen Durst disappeared following an argument with her husband. Her body was never found. The mentioned HBO series unearthed evidence that seemed to implicate Robert Durst in her disappearance and caught him on tape saying he “killed them all.”

Durst is currently on trial for allegedly murdering his friend Susan Berman in 2000 after she allegedly threatened to expose his role in his wife’s disappearance. He also admitted to killing his former Texas neighbor, but convinced a jury that it was self defense..

Kathleen Durst’s sisters Carol Bamonte, Mary Hughes and Virginia McKeon are suing Robert Durst for right to sepulcher and intentional infliction of emotional distress, the New York Post reported. They also accuse Durst family members of helping cover up his alleged crime, following on similar accusations by Jinx director Andrew Jarecki. At the time Durst spokesperson Jordan Barowitz called the claim “hogwash.”

“After 35 years, we are one step closer to proving that Robert Durst killed Kathie and covered up this murder with the help of an organized group of professionals, friends and family.” the sisters’ lawyer said. [NYP]Konrad Putzier
