Jay Glazer, a top-producing broker who’s represented the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin, was fired from Compass [TRDataCustom] on Monday, according to a spokesperson for the brokerage.
Formerly of Warburg Realty, Glazer was one of the first big names to jump to Compass after the venture-backed firm poached Leonard Steinberg to become its president in 2014.
The Compass spokesperson would not give a reason for the dismissal. Glazer did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
At Compass, Glazer represented Wesley Edens, part-owner of the Milwaukee Bucks and a co-founder of Fortress Investment Group, in the $17 million sale of his apartment to Bruce Willis. He also represented Paltrow and Martin following their divorce in selling their three-bedroom pad at 416 Washington Street for $10.7 million.
Compass has historically made a point of ousting those who it says do not fit with its culture. It has let go brokers such as Leah Sternberg in Los Angeles and Jason Walker in New York.
