The priciest single-family home sale in Brooklyn recorded in September was also the priciest apartment ever in Williamsburg. The buyer finally closed on the $6.6 million purchase of the 5,000-square-foot penthouse at the 216-unit Oosten, developed by Xinyuan Real Estate and designed by Dutch architect Piet Boon.

The second priciest sale was a 3,930-square-foot townhouse in Brooklyn Heights built in 1846, and includes a 1,000-square-foot garden.

Brooklyn’s most expensive sale by the foot was at Dumbo’s new luxury condo building One John Street, where a 2,492-square-foot condo sold for $5 million, or $2,044 per square foot.

In Queens, two of the top five home sales were in Hunter’s Point; a three-story townhouse built in 1890 spanning 3611 square feet, and a three-bedroom condo in the waterfront building the View at East Coast.
