The widow of former Carlyle Hotel owner Norman Peck is suing her late husband’s son for $3 million in unpaid loans, according to a report.

The suit marks the latest twist in the battle over the Upper East Side hotel owner’s inheritance. Liliane Peck is suing as an executor of her late husband’s estate, claiming her stepson Ian Peck failed to pay back a loan meant to cover legal bills and a settlement with a hedge fund.

A week ago, Ian had launched his own suit to get a bigger share of his father’s $41 million estate, according to the New York Post.

Norman Peck bought the property with several partners for $15.5 million in 1967 and in 2001 sold the Carlyle at 35 East 76th Street to Maritz, Wolff & Co. for $130 million (the property was later sold to a Hong Kong Billionaire, along with four others, for a total of $570 million). Peck died in April at age 80, and donated $20 million to the Brooklyn Academy of Music.

According to Liliane’s suit, Ian squandered his father’s money on a failed art-financing business. “Unfortunately, virtually all of Ian’s ventures have resulted in discord and dissension with his business partners,’’ the complaint reads. “Further, Ian has lived a lavish lifestyle, including purchasing (among other things) expensive cars, boats, and a multimillion dollar home in the Hamptons.” [NYP]Konrad Putzier
