“Luxurious affordability.” That’s how Sam Charney, one of the developers of a 11-story, 56-unit condominium building now under construction in Long Island City, deemed the pricing.
Charney Construction & Development, Ascent Development and Tavros Capital are developing the 70,000-square-foot project, called the Jackson, at 13-33 Jackson Avenue. The development’s previous address was 11-51 47th Avenue.
The condos are priced to appeal to a wide range of buyers, the New York Times reported. One-bedrooms, which range from 600 to 700 square feet, go from $600,000 to $900,000. The 850- to 1,000-square-feet two-bedrooms are from $900,000 to $1.8 million, with three-bedrooms ranging from $1.3 million to $4 million for pads that will run from 1,200 to 1,600 square feet. Penthouses are also up for sale, with the largest at 1,900 square feet and will be priced around $4 million.
New renderings show architect Fogarty Finger paid homage to the neighborhood’s industrial roots, turning the former parking lot and two-story building into a silver-etched building with oversized windows. The building will feature a fitness center, children’s playroom, rooftop lounge and bike parking.
Rezoning in 2001 triggered a residential development craze in Court Square and nearby Queens Plaza. Recently, Flushing-based developer Chris Jiashu Xu filed plans for a 79-story residential tower at 23-15 44th Drive, just north of One Court Square.
Sales for the Jackson are slated to launch in March and the building is expected to be finished by spring 2017. Modern Spaces is marketing the building. [NYT] — Dusica Sue Malesevic
