Damac Properties won't ditch Trump brand in wake of anti-Muslim comments

A day after Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump proposed to ban all Muslims from entering the U.S., a real estate developer in officially Muslim Dubai said that will not get in the way of a planned Trump-brand golf course and hotel.

Niall McLaughlin, a vice president of Damac Properties, which is building the Trump International Golf Club outside Dubai, told BuzzFeed News he is partnering with Trump because his company is “one of the premium golf course operators in the world.”

“As such we would not comment further on Mr. Trump’s personal or political agenda, nor comment on the internal American political debate scene,” he added.

The gated community will feature mansions with private swimming pools carrying the Trump brand and according to Darmac’s website come with a “Trump Card, which opens doors to a host of privileges across the globe.” [BuzzFeed News]Konrad Putzier
