Jazz legend Charlie Parker’s old Alphabet City dwelling is on the market for $9.25 million.
The landmarked Charlie Parker Residence at 151 Avenue B, across from Tompkins Square Park, is a Gothic Revival-style, 23-foot-wide brownstone built around 1849. The townhouse is divided into four full-floor apartments, including the ground-level floor where the legendary saxophonist once lived.
Parker’s old pad comes with a parlor floor, three fireplaces and a private garden including a koi pond, according to the New York Post, while the building features double-wood doors, high ceilings and original wood floors.
The townhouse can stay divided or be converted back into a single-family mansion. Halstead Property’s Elizabeth Stile has the listing. [NYP] – Rey Mashayekhi
