Halcyon Management is looking to construct a 19-story apartment building on the waterfront in Greenpoint, according to a permit application filed with the city’s Department of Buildings Tuesday.

The project, at 27 West Street, will create 234 residential units within nearly 280,000 square feet of space, plus a 120-car attached garage.

The building will have 5,839 square feet of commercial space on the ground floor, along with a 3,836-square-foot community facility. There will be 4,313 more square feet of outdoor recreational space on the fifth floor. The second floor will house 13 apartments. There will be 14 units on the third and fourth floors, 25 on the fifth floor, 24 on the sixth, 11 each on the seventh through 17th floors, 12 on the 18th and 11 on the 19th floor.

Halcyon, a Brooklyn-based firm led by Yoel Sabel and Lipa Friedman, was also behind the four-building Williamsburg rental complex known as 101 Bedford.

Saky Yakas of SLCE Architects is the architect of record.

The site is currently home to a 77,000-square-foot warehouse between Cayler and Quay Streets. Plans for the demolition of that building were filed in June.

Much of the area was destroyed in the Greenpoint Terminal Market fire in 2006.
