Mets channel SportsNet in talks for 4 WTC lease

Broadcaster currently occupies 39K sf at the Time-Life Building

SportsNet New York, the Mets’ official TV broadcaster,  is in talks with Silverstein Properties to move its offices to 4 World Trade CenterThe deal could be finalized as early as next month, Bloomberg reported.

SNY is owned, like the Mets, by Fred Wilpon’s Sterling Equities. The cable network currently makes its home at the Time-Life Building in Midtown, occupying 39,000 square feet along with a television studio on the ground floor.

Silverstein’s 4 World Trade Center opened in 2013, the first of the new towers at the site. About 860,000 square feet of the total 2.3-million-square-feet are still available, according to CoStar. MediaMath took 106,000 square feet there last year, the building’s first private sector tenant. More recently, Eataly announced plans to move its headquarters to the tower.
