KUB’s 150 Wooster will feature huge apartments

The apartments at KUB Capital’s eight-story building at 146-150 Wooster Street in Soho certainly won’t lack for living space. The average apartment in the proposed six-unit development checks in at 4,895 square feet, according to recent filings.

The residential space will be divided into duplexes on the lower two floors, three whole-floor units in the middle and, at the pinnacle, a duplex penthouse with a roof deck.

KUB, a New York-based investment firm, bought the 7,184-square-foot assemblage for $50.5 million. The HTO Architect-designed structure, which features steel, limestone and brick construction, will also house two retail spaces, each with 3,000 square feet of space, New York YIMBY reported.

The parcel, 71 feet wide, is currently being used as a parking lot with a one-story storefront. Artists in Soho sued in 2013, claiming the proposed building was “out of character for the neighborhood” and violated landmark codes. The landmarks commission in April approved plans after striking down earlier proposals. Demolition permits for the existing structure have not yet been filed.  [NY YIMBY] – Ariel Stulberg
