Six low-rise buildings across the street from the iconic Bloomingdale’s flagship on the Upper East Side are on the market, and a buyer could build a supertall tower at the site.
World Wide Group is selling the properties near the corner of East 60th Street and Lexington Avenue, Crain’s reported. The site could hold a 280,000-square-foot, 1,000-foot-tall tower.
Famous dive bar Subway Inn used to be located at one of the six properties at 143-161 East 60th Street.
Cushman & Wakefield chair of investment sales Bob Knakal is marketing the site along with colleagues Clint Olsen and Helen Hwang. World Wide assembled the properties over the last 10 years, Crain’s reported. [Crain’s] — Claire Moses
