A Lenox Hill townhouse where celebrated first lady and activist Eleanor Roosevelt once had an apartment has hit the market for $18 million.
The four-bedroom, five and two half-bath home is located at 211 East 62nd Street and spans 5,200 square feet, according to the Wall Street Journal. It also features an enclosed garden with a fountain on the ground floor, a terrace, and a roof deck.
While Roosevelt’s primary residence was in Hyde Park, N.Y., she owned the apartment for trips to the city from 1953 to 1958.
The current owner is investor Charles Ueng, who bought the place in 2011 for $9 million and said he put $2 million into renovations.
