Renderings for Extell Development’s proposed supertall residential tower at 217 West 57th Street, known as the Nordstrom Tower have been released.
The Midtown skyscraper, designed by architectural firm Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill, would be the world’s tallest residential building with a roof height of 1,479 feet and a pinnacle height of 1,775 feet.
The 1.2 million-square-foot, mixed-use development will house a 200,000-square foot Nordstrom department store as well as offices, a hotel and condominiums, according to New York YIMBY. Midtown firm Thor Equities acquired a four-story retail building across the street from the project last year.
The building will also include outdoor terraces, which would likely be the highest outdoor spaces in the city. [NY YIMBY] – Rey Mashayekhi
