Trial attorney David Boies’ law firm is in discussions to take around 100,000 square feet of space at 55 Hudson Yards on Manhattan’s West Side.

Boies Schiller & Flexner would be the first tenant to sign at the 51-story, 1.3 million-square-foot building at West 33rd Street and 11th Avenue. The move would see the law firm downsize from its current 150,000-square-foot space at 575 Lexington Avenue in Midtown.

55 Hudson Yards is a partnership between the Related Companies, Oxford Properties Group and Japanese real estate firm Mitsui Fudosan. Related and Oxford are separately working to erect two other commercial buildings – 10 and 30 Hudson Yards – that will be anchored by Coach and Time Warner, respectively.

Boies Schiller & Flexner would be the second major law firm to commit to Hudson Yards after Brookfield Property Partners signed Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom to a 20-year lease at 1 Manhattan West this week.

Boies’ client list includes late Yankees owner George Steinbrenner, filmmaker Michael Moore and, most recently, film studio Sony Pictures Entertainment during The Interview/North Korea hacking scandal. [Crain’s] – Rey Mashayekhi
