Bloomingdale’s is opening an “off-price” store on the corner of 72nd Street and Broadway on the Upper West Side.
The department store inked a roughly 25,000-square-foot, 15-year lease for three stories at Stahl Real Estate’s and Peter Malkin’s 2085 Broadway, which currently houses an Urban Outfitters, according to the New York Observer. Urban Outfitters will move out of the space when its lease expires in July.
Cushman & Wakefield‘s Gene Spiegelman and Michael O’Neill marketed the space. Newmark Grubb Knight Frank represented Bloomingdale’s in the deal.
Bloomie’s will span 7,957 square feet on the ground floor, 8,036 square feet on the lower level and 8,992 square feet on the second level, according to the website. The store is looking to open by the holiday season. It will be the department’s store first discount location. [NYO] — Claire Moses
