The French government has been offloading its international real estate holdings for the past few years, and opted to replace this prized property with a half dozen more modest apartments.

Jed Garfield of Leslie J. Garfield listed the property for $32.5 million in the spring. The over-the-ask deal went into contract in June and closed last month.

Garfield declined to comment.
