Related Companies started construction on Hudson Yards’ first residential tower.
Work has now officially commenced on the proposed 70-story tower at 15 Hudson Yards, according to the New York Daily News. The building is one of 16 towers that will comprise the $20 billion development.
The cylindrical-shaped building at 15 Hudson Yards will stand 910 feet tall and will encompass 960,000 square feet. Diller Scofidio + Renfro and Rockwell Group designed the tower. Related’s building will house roughly 385 units, some rental and some condo. The building is scheduled to be completed in 2016.
Construction already started on Hudson Yards’ first office tower at 10 Hudson Yards, which has now reached about a third of its total 52-story height, the newspaper reported. The entire Hudson Yards project is expected to be finished in 2024. [NYDN] — Claire Moses
