Renée Zellweger has just sold her East Hampton beach mansion for well over its $4.45 million asking price less than a month after she listed it.

Zellweger hid her ownership of the East End property by filing documents stating that her famed photographer pal Bruce Weber was the owner, even though he is not, according to the New York Post.

Sources told the post that once Zellweger was unmasked as the home’s true owner, a bidding war began. The closing price was “a quarter of a million dollars over the asking price,” the same sources told the Post.

The buyer is Dr. Jeffrey Geller, an orthopedic surgeon and Leigh Geller, a former assistant district attorney for Manhattan.

The home is located at 30 Egypt Lane in the desirable “south-of-the-highway” area.

“It’s not the house that’s so valuable — it’s the land. And her name doesn’t hurt either,” a real estate agent close to the deal said. [NYP]Christopher Cameron
