Major League Baseball signed for an extra 35,000 square feet at its digital media offices at Jamestown Properties’ Chelsea Market — bringing its total space there to 150,000 square feet.
The company’s lease at 75 Ninth Avenue, between West 15th and 16th streets, now runs through 2022, the New York Observer reported. MLB Advanced Media, the division that runs MLB.com, occupies the fifth floor and will now also take a chunk of the second floor by next summer. The MLB production wing occupies about 19,500 square feet there.
Asking rent at the 1.2 million-square-foot property is roughly $80 per square foot. Newmark Grubb Knight Frank’s David Falk and Nick Berger represented both the tenant and Jamestown. [NYO] — Mark Maurer
