Updated 2:28 ET: Two window washers were rescued after a cable attached to their scaffold broke outside the 69th floor of the recently opened One World Trade Center.

Firefighters were able to cut through a window next to the scaffold and pulled the workers inside the building. A few minutes before, a rescue basket had been lowered in an attempt to extricate the window washers from the dangling equipment.
