The Donald is eyeing JFK Airport’s TWA terminal as a potential site for a new hotel.

Trump, who was rumored to be interested in a similar project back in 2011, reportedly had his representatives look into the undertaking at the time. He ultimately backed away, but has recently been spotted checking out the site again.

The Eero Saarinen-designed, 1962 building has sat empty and unused since 2001, and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey invited hotel and real estate companies to develop a property to coexist with the terminal in 2011. But despite interest from developers such as the pod hotel chain Yotel, Starwood Hotels and Standard developer André Balazs — who had an agreement in place but ultimately backed out last year — nothing has stuck.

The Trump camp declined to comment to Condé Nast Traveler about any possible plans, but the next round of proposals are due Oct. 14. Other possible contenders likely include Yotel again, as well as Marriott and the Related Companies, according to Condé Nast Traveler. [Condé Nast Traveler]Julie Strickland
