Extell Development bought the site in 2006 for $42.7 million and sold it to Lam for $67.5 million two years later.

The new hotel will have 330 rooms and total 177,513 square feet. Construction is expected to begin in January 2015 and completion is slated for July 2017.

The market, which started at the garage in 1993, officially closed in June. [NY YIMBY] — Claire Moses
