Bank of China in talks to anchor 7 Bryant Park

Beijing-based lending giant Bank of China is in talks to become the flagship tenant at the 30-story office tower at 7 Bryant Park in Midtown.

A partnership including JPMorgan Asset Management, Pacolet Milliken Enterprises and Hines is developing the 471,000-square-foot tower, located on Sixth Avenue between West 39th and West 40th streets. The property is expected to open early next year.

The bank was reportedly considering taking 200,000 square feet in recent months, though the amount of space discussed in current negotiations was undisclosed. The deal would provide the bank with branding of the tower, sources told Crain’s.

In April, law firm Reed Smith backed out of talks to occupy 160,000-square-foot space at the base of the tower, as The Real Deal reported. [Crain’s]Mark Maurer
