The three-floor penthouse at Madison Equities and Property Markets Group’s 10 Sullivan Street will be completed next year and is asking $45 million.
Perched atop the 204-foot tower — architect-turned-developer Cary Tamarkin’s tallest design project to date — the unit will feature curved glass windows and a triangular shape reminiscent of the Flatiron Building, the New York Daily News reported. The 8,360-square-foot home will also be decked out with a private pool, rooftop lounge and 23-foot tall ceilings.
The unit will be one of 19 in The Sullivan Street tower, where prices start at $2.97 million for a 1,210-square-foot two-bedroom. The property will also include four adjacent 25-foot-wide townhouses that are five stories apiece, each with elevators, as previously reported.
Madison’s involvement in The Sullivan Street project began in 2010, when it picked up a portion of the site at 140 Sixth Avenue, with plans to build a hotel in partnership with California-based private equity firm CIM Group. CIM bowed out when Madison began leaning toward a condo project in lieu of a hotel, and Madison bought out CIM’s interest in the project in 2012. PMG was then brought on board. The partners secured city approval for a variance required to construct the building in late 2013, needed because the area was zoned for commercial and industrial uses. [NYDN] — Julie Strickland
