UPDATED, 10:56 a.m., June 4: Two Trees’ Jed Walentas has filed building permits for infrastructure at Site E, which will ultimately house the waterfront buildings of the long-awaited Domino Sugar refinery megaproject.
The planned structure at 2 Grand, meanwhile, the first building that will sprout on the site, will measure 785,888 square feet in total and most of the space will be residential. The base will house 11,018 square feet of ground-floor retail, and an additional 75,145 square feet will be a “community facility,” according to filings cited by New York YIMBY.
The 35-story, 369-foot tower will be home to 658 residential units.
Construction on 2 Grand is slated to kick off within the next two to three years, and the full 3.3 million-square-foot project will likely take roughly a decade, according to New York YIMBY. [New York YIMBY] — Julie Strickland
