City officials announced the $225 million project, planned for 93-01 Sutphin Boulevard at the corner of Archer Avenue, on Thursday. The undertaking would mark Downtown Jamaica’s largest infusion of private investment in decades, nonprofit Greater Jamaica Development Corporation, which owns the land, told DNAinfo.

New York-based developer BRP Companies will construct the building, which will take the place of a Duane Reade. Officials said last year that the building will include as many as 500 mixed-income apartments, but Greater Jamaica would not confirm the figures to DNainfo on Thursday morning.
