WEEKENDEDITION Back in 2012, the Grammy-award-winning rapper Drake purchased a Southern California estate for $7.7 million. The recording artist lost no time in renaming his home “YOLO Estate” – short for “you only live once” – and planting a YOLO sign in his front yard. Needless to say, the sign was repeatedly stolen. Before he was even signed, the rapper had been obsessed with the property and its cave-pool. In 2007, he found the home online and set it as his desktop background. Eventually, Drake purchased the home for less than one third of the asking price from a steakhouse-chain restaurateur, according to Curbed.

In a recent Rolling Stone profile Drake recalls that the steakhouse owner “was at a low moment,” adding “I stole it from him!” Rolling Stone called the home: “part dude ranch, part gentleman’s manor, part Medieval Times,” and judging by the estate’s amenities that isn’t far off.

The home features a mechanical bull, a 28-person theater, A Championship Tennis Court, a volleyball court, an equestrian ring, and a half-dozen stables. [Curbed]Christopher Cameron
