Auto Row, a car dealership-lined stretch of Eleventh Avenue on Manhattan’s far West Side, has a sporty new addition.
Porsche Cars North America, the German carmaker’s U.S. unit, has inked a lease for 711 Eleventh Avenue at West 51st Street. The new 175,000-square-foot building, not yet constructed, will include a new showroom and repair facility, sources told the New York Post.
The site, owned by sisters Barbara and Pearl Seril, currently houses three adjacent properties and includes air rights from 614 West 51st Street and 623 West 50th streets, the Post reported.
Chrysler has leased one of the buildings since 1993, but was unable to reach an extension agreement with the landlords, sources told the Post.
Alan Grossman of ARG Realty Consultants represented the landlords in the deal, as did Bruce Mosler, Ethan Silverstein and Mark Mandrell of Cushman & Wakefield. Brian Goldman of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank represented Porsche, and did not respond to the Post’s requests for comment. Porsche’s Atlanta-based spokesperson did not respond to the Post’s emailed requests for comment by deadline. [NYP] — Julie Strickland
