Shared workspace provider WeWork is looking to add a 500,000-square-foot spot at the Brooklyn Navy Yard to the company’s smattering of newly-inked leases in Manhattan.
WeWork CEO Adam Neumann told Real Estate Weekly that the company is in talks with the Navy Yard to take the space, but noted that the lack of transportation in the area is one stumbling block. He suggested the possibility of shuttles running along Brooklyn’s waterfront as a potential solution. There was no word on the spot’s price per square foot or the brokers on the deal.
WeWork, which is also in talks to take all 300,000 square feet of Rudin Management’s 110 Wall Street, picked up 86,000 square feet at 25 Broadway in September and 120,000 square feet at 222 Broadway earlier this year. The company, on track to become New York City’s fifth largest office tenant, currently lists 11 New York City locations on its website. [REW] — Julie Strickland
