A decadent and extremely unusual home in Brooklyn’s Mill Basin has hit the market asking $30 million, a price that would smash the borough’s standing sales record set by a $12 million Brooklyn Heights townhouse at 70 Willow Street, if it found a buyer.

Located on the waterfront at 2458 National Drive, the property is actually a combination of two homes that together offer 10 bedrooms, 15 bathrooms and 23,000 square feet of living space. The compound, which looks like something straight out of Miami, also boasts 257 feet of waterside frontage, four kitchens, a seven-car garage, a three-boat marina, a 1,000-square-foot pool and spa, a 40-person pavilion and 30,000 square feet of outdoor gardens, according to Curbed.

The history of the massive home is also notable. The mansion was originally built by John Rosatti, a multimillionaire with alleged mob connections, in the late 1980’s. However, he quickly became embroiled in litigation with the state after inspectors found that Rosatti had excavated tidal wetlands to extend the property and refilled them with landfill. Rosatti then sold the property to Russian heiress Galina Anissimova for approximately $3 million. She is still the current owner, according to public records. [Curbed]Christopher Cameron
