Los Angeles-based fashion label Halston Heritage, a brand associated with the glitz and glamour of the era of Studio 54, has inked a deal for its second New York City location in Soho. The deal comes six months after the retailer entered the Manhattan market with a flagship on Madison Avenue.

Halston, created by now deceased designer Roy Halston Frowick, snapped up a 5,150-square-foot space at 59 Greene Street in Soho, sources said. The building is owned by Thor Equities and Yaron Jacobi, an investor and sometimes-partner to billionaire real estate tycoon Ron Burkle.

Jordan Claffey, vice president of leasing at Thor, represented the landlord in the deal, which was first reported by Women’s Wear Daily. He was not immediately available to comment.

A spokesperson for Halston was not immediately available.

The building which was purchased by Thor and Jacobi in 2012, includes 2,000 square feet on the lower level, 3,150 square feet on the ground floor and 35 feet of Frontage On Greene Street. The asking rent for the space was $350 per square foot, one source familiar with the deal said. The final taking rent and the terms of the lease were not clear.

Soho retail leasing activity has been heating up. Recent deals include a 7,600-square-foot deal at 118 Mercer Street inked by Clark’s shoes and a 10-year lease signed by fashion label Schott NYC at 236 Elizabeth Street, between East Houston and Prince streets. Landlords with spaces currently on the market include Zar Properties, which recently put a major space at 64-48 Wooster Street up for rent.

Halston, which sells through retailers such as Saks, Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman, opened its first retail stores this year, including a Manhattan store in March, at 1122 Madison Avenue, and a Los Angeles store in April.
